3 large yellow onions, cut into thin rings
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup milk, plus more if needed
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon dried basil
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Vegetable oil, for frying
- Whisk the flour, milk, egg, 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, spices, salt, basil, and black pepper together in a shallow bowl until smooth. Add more milk if needed.
